The KAT Collective is this weekend! Our 7th Annual Fundraising Gala, set for Saturday, August 23rd, will be hosted by and starring KAT favorite Diego Prieto (Side Show, Cabaret, Closer Than Ever, The Rocky Horror Show, Company) and Brad Oscar, who originated the role of Franz Liebkind in the Broadway production of The Producers and received a 2001 Tony nomination for his performance. Brad later succeeded Nathan Lane as Max Bialystock for over 1200 performances on Broadway, on tour, in London, and he originated the role in the Las Vegas production at the Paris Casino.
Brad grew up in Rockville, MD and began his career at Adventure Theater, Rockville Musical Theatre, the JCC in Rockville, and Montgomery College Summer Dinner Theater. He is currently starring in The Mystery of Irma Vep at Arena Stage, and he recently appeared there as the Emcee in Cabaret and Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees. We at KAT are thrilled to have Brad involved with our Gala this year. Thank you, Brad and Diego.

Nevermore Cast (2007 WATCH Best Musical)
Kensington Arts Theatre (KAT) boldly enters its 7th season by stepping in a new direction. This season KAT will introduce its first mainstage, non-musical to the repertoire of dramatic presentations. We hope this will challenge viewers to again take another look at the assumptions they have about people and life; a principle the group was founded on. KAT is very excited to share this ground-breaking season with you and looks forward to your continued support.

Synopsis: Five of the 19 surviving Little Sisters of Hoboken, a one-time missionary order that ran a leper colony on an island south of France, discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, accidentally killed the other fifty-two residents of the convent with her tainted vichyssoise while they were off playing bingo with a group of Maryknolls. Upon discovering the disaster, Mother Superior had a vision in which she was told to start a greeting card company to raise funds for the burials. The greeting cards were an enormous success and, thinking there was plenty of money, the Reverend Mother bought a VCR for the convent, leaving her with no money in the kitty to pay for the last four burials. With the deceased nuns on ice in the deep freeze, they decide to stage a variety show in the Mount Saint Helen's School auditorium to raise the necessary amount.
